Simon picked up a piece of marble and took it up to the temple. He had been collecting all day with no help. No one else had volunteered to help rebuild yet. He was only doing it to try to get his mom to notice him. If she claimed him, he wouldn't have to worry about being probatio anymore. He would be able to do more. Simon walked back down to grab another piece.

Evangeline heard a rustle near the ruins of the Jupiter temple. She jogged over and saw Simon picking up pieces of rubble. "What are you doing?", she asked, peering cautiously at his stooped over figure.

He straightened up. "I'm working on rebuilding the temple. It needs to be rebuilt or the camp spirit will be destroyed," Simon said. He pciked up a last piece and started back up the hill.

"Well, my cousin was an architect. He showed me a lot of cool things before he went off to college. Mind if I help?", Evangeline called after Simon.

"It would be great if you helped. I didn't think I'd be finishing this on my own anyway. Thank you," Simon said happily.

"So, what are we doing for now?" Evangeline hopped up onto a tall stone block and wobbled. "Some of these stones seem a little heavy to me...".

"There are only a couple left. You can start repairing the columns and floor. I'm not sure how hard it will be," Simon said. He started picking up the last couple pieces.

Evangeline frowned at the collected rubble. She wasn't sure that this was the best way to approach the problem. "Why don't we just reconstruct it from scratch? Or was that the plan already?"

"This marble is pretty much scratch. If you place it in the relative shape of what you want it to become and pray to Jupiter, he may repair it. You could also pray to him to fix it as you put the pieces together because if he did that it would be really easy for us," Simon said. He place the last pieces in the pile.

"Sounds a bit too easy, don't you think?", Evangeline said cautiously. "It would be so much more fun to actually build it from scratch. But, If that's the way we're gonna have to build it, I guess it'll be harder. Know what, let's just do it your way." Evangeline grabbed some rubble and tried to remember what the temple had looked like before it was destroyed. "What destroyed the temple, anyway?", she asked Simon.

"The earthquake," Simon said. He took a couple pieces off the pile and laid them as the corner of a floor. It took a lot of jiggling because he wanted the pieces to fit together pretty well and b relatively even.

Evangeline set up the opposite corner. "So we're just loosely building the walls with rubble and hoping that Jupiter will be in a good mood today." She rolled her eyes. "Like he's ever in a good mood..."

"Actually, the temple to Jupiter had no walls. It was a floor with columns and a roof with the center open," Simon said. He set up more of the floor and hoped that Jupiter would be feeling helpful today.

"Really?", Evangeline shrugged. What did she know about Jupiter.

"Yeah. It'll be hard to rebuild it so maybe we lay out the floor and build the column bases and hope," Simon said. He was really hoping this would work.
